Originally a gamekeeper in Preston, the wildlife and landscapes of the area inspired him to pick up painting. Over several decades, his work has covered areas all across the UK and appeared in galleries across the country. Rollinson’s work reached new levels of public awareness in 2004, where he entered the Not the Turner Prize Exhibition. Sponsored by the Daily Mail, the competition sought the best of British artists and ended up seeing over 10,000 entries. Geoff’s piece, capturing the image of a peregrine falcon, went on to be one of the 200 that were shown in the Mall Gallery in London, before making it into the final 50 paintings.
As a prize, Geoff had won a website to help showcase his work, but as fate had it, this happened just around the time he had set up his own.
